Travel!

Today I'm grateful for:

  • The yummy piece of coffee cake that materialized on my desk before I got in to work.
  • A calm day, exactly when I needed it.
  • My dad's help with packing and navigating the airport.
  • A smooth flight with no hitches, and a prompt taxi to the hotel (in advance)
  • You. Remember, when you're going along, just being yourself, you inspire me.

Wow

I am grateful for:

  • Sitting at the "Cool kids table" all weekend, hearing scifi gossip and publishing minutiae from the pros.
  • Knowing my limits and taking care of myself.
  • Opportunities to catch myself spinning on some old beliefs, and just observing.
  • Invitations to speak up, move to the front, and take up more space. Being noticed.
  • Help freely offered
  • Being missed by my family and friends while I was away.
  • Hugs
  • Challenges offered by my mentors, in the spirit of "I know you can do this."
  • Talking things over with Kari, and the peace that brings.
  • THREE playful emails from friends this morning, and the pleasure of writing playful answers.
  • YOU and all the wonderful things I'll learn because I know you.

Prom Dress!

Thrills

I am grateful for:

  • Hot coffee in my travel cup every morning and cold water from the cooler just a few steps from my desk
  • The windows in my office
  • Flirtatious customers who make me blush on the phone
  • Training my coworkers to offer me a donut from the box before they carry it downstairs to the bullpen (Thank you Mama!)
  • Char, always and especially when she reaches out to me because she's excited or fearful. Even though she's very independent, she still wants me to know what's going on.
  • My mom, for all the times she supports Char when I'm at work or traveling, so I can focus on those things fearlessly.
  • My Dad, because he makes running our house look effortless, and really enjoys doing it.
  • My job. I may not always enjoy it, but it reminds me that I'm capable and smart, and I'm all for that! ;)
  • My writing partners, for teaching me to play and take risks.
  • Women's group, for teaching me it's safe to tell the truth.
  • The activists and politicians who made the ADA happen, so I could hop on a plane to Philadelphia and stay in a room there that has wide doors and a roll-in shower.
  • You, and all your juicy adventures that whet my appetite. YUM!

PART 1: Set your blog to email you when you publish a new post:

On Blogger.com:

1. Log in to your google account to view the blogger dashboard.

2. Locate the dashboard entry for your glog, and look at the lower-right area. Click settings

3.Click the word Email near the top of the page in the colored bar.

4. You'll see the words BlogSend Address. To the right of that, enter your email address in the box.

5. Click the Save Settings button.

6. Post to your glog, and print off the email you get from blogger.

PART 2: Create a list of glog readers, AKA an Outlook Distribution List

In Outlook Express (6)

1. Click Contacts in the bottom left corner and select New (make sure to click the downward arrow) then Distribution List.

2. Give it a name.

3. Click Select Members to add from the contacts list, or Add New to add an email address that's not in your contacts list.

4. Click Save and Close when finished.

In Outlook Express (6)

3. Click the New button.

4. In the area labeled 1. Select the Conditions for
your rule:
Select the box next to Where the body contains specific words (we will use the last line of the email you printed, where blogger tells you the user name of the person who posted and the name of the glog).

5. Then in the area labeled 2. Select the Actions for your rule: Select the box next to Forward it to people.

6. In the area labeled 3. Rule Description… click on the blue link that says contains specific words then type the line from the bottom of the email blogger sent you, like "Posted By cynthia to Delicious Details" in the box and click on the Add button
and then click OK. BE SURE TO USE THE WORDS FROM YOUR BLOGGER EMAIL, NOT MINE.

7. Then in the same area click on the blue link that says people, then type in the distribution list you created in PART 2 and then click OK.

8. Click OK.

9. Click OK.
